List of Blocks

The REDAC hardware is built from a small set of reconfigurable block types. Each block has a defined role in the analog signal path, routing structure, configuration path, or module-level carrier structure.

At the cluster level, the U-Block selects analog sources for computation and fans out the voltages, the C-Block applies coefficient and sign settings, the I-Block sums selected lanes into channels, and the SH-Block prepares those channels for the installed M-Blocks. Together these blocks form the common signal path used by each mREDAC cluster.

M-Blocks are exchangeable Math Block positions. Their installed type defines the actual computation, such as integration, multiplication, division, or other function-specific behavior. Each cluster provides generic M-Block positions so different computation elements can be used without changing the surrounding cluster structure.

Topology routing is handled by T-Blocks. The mREDAC T-Block routes selected cluster lanes between clusters, while the T-Block BPL variant supports routing at the iREDAC backplane level. The Ctrl-Block provides module control and configuration support, while the frontplane and backplane provide external I/O and carrier-level interconnection.

The mREDAC combines clusters, routing, control, front I/O, and M-Block positions into one module-holder level assembly. The iREDAC backplane carries multiple mREDAC modules and connects them to backplane-level routing and synchronization structures.
